We are delighted to welcome Professor Quinn SlobodianĚýfor a talk onĚýhis new book "Globalists: The End of an Empire and the Creation of Neoliberalism."ĚýFrom the ashes of the Habsburg Empire to the creation of the World Trade Organization,ĚýSlobodianĚýoffers the first intellectual history of neoliberal globalism, following a group of thinkers 'to show that neoliberalism emerged less to shrink government and abolish regulations than to redeploy them at a global level' (Harvard University Press).

Quinn Slobodian is ACLS Frederick Burkhardt Residential Fellow at the Weatherhead Initiative on Global History at Harvard University for 2017-8 and associate professor of history at Wellesley College.ĚýHis most recent book, forthcoming with Harvard University Press in 2018, is titledĚýGlobalists: The End of Empire and the Birth of Neoliberalism. He is also co-editing a volume on neoliberalism with DieterĚýPlehwe and Philip Mirowski.
