The American College in Paris was founded 60 years ago on March 27, 1962. On that day our founder, Dr. Lloyd A. DeLamater, signed the new college’s charter, realizing his vision of an American international institution that transcended borders, cultures and narrow nationalisms.
During the week of March 21—27, the entire AUP community celebrated our first-ever Founding Week in honor of AUP’s 60th anniversary.ĚýThat’s 60 years of studying on the Seine; 60 years of late night discussions in cafĂ©s and lifelong friendships forged in the AMEX; 60 years of study trips around the world; and 60 years of priceless memories that continue to inspire the global explorers of today.
